From Conversation to Action: How Women Speak Up and Brands Are Supporting Women During Women's History Month
At Women Speak Up, we’ve been celebrating women all month long in honor of Women’s History Month! One of the highlights was our 2nd annual Girl Talk: The Experience, a virtual panel where women professionals shared insights on launching careers and making bold moves in the industry. It was an inspiring event that connected audience members with industry leaders, fostering invaluable conversations and mentorship.
Beyond our event, we’ve been dedicated to educating our Instagram community about the rich history of Women’s History Month. As women, it’s crucial that we continue learning and sharing our stories. To stay informed and inspired, follow us on Instagram at @womenspeakupus.
Our commitment doesn’t stop in March; every Wednesday, we spotlight remarkable women through our Women Wednesday series on LinkedIn. These posts highlight trailblazing women and their impactful stories. Join the conversation and celebrate with us year-round by following us on LinkedIn at @womenspeakupus.
Brands Making an Impact on Women’s History Month
We’re not the only ones finding innovative ways to honor women this month; many brands across industries are stepping up in meaningful ways.
Charlotte Tilbury: Supporting Women in Racing
Charlotte Tilbury, the iconic makeup brand, continues its Formula 1 sponsorship to uplift women in motorsports. This year, on March 8, 100% of online sales from its Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray were donated to Motorsport UK’s Girls Karting Academy. This initiative provides free karting opportunities for young girls, helping pave the way for more women in racing.
Cosabella: Empowering Women with Essential Items
Lingerie brand Cosabella is making a difference by ensuring that all women have access to essential items. Throughout Women’s History Month, for every bra or panty sold on cosabella.com, Cosabella will donate one to I Support the Girls (ISTG). This organization distributes bras, underwear, and menstrual hygiene products to women experiencing homelessness, poverty, or crisis. It’s a powerful initiative that directly impacts women in need.
FIGS: Honoring Women in Medicine
Women in healthcare deserve recognition, and FIGS, a women-founded scrub brand, is leading the charge. Their new campaign celebrates women in medicine with a short film highlighting real experiences and achievements. To further honor these trailblazers, FIGS is launching two new scrub colors, Mariner and Wayfarer, inspired by the dedication and impact of women in healthcare.
Kotex: Amplifying Women’s Voices
One of the most thought-provoking campaigns this year comes from Kotex. Their powerful two-minute video sheds light on the discomfort women experience daily, whether it’s being harassed on public transportation, feeling unsafe walking alone, being denied access to education, or facing menstrual stigma. Kotex’s research found that 60% of women believe progress for women is stagnating or moving too slowly.
To ignite change, they launched the hashtag #ProgressFeelsLike, encouraging women to share their personal journeys toward empowerment. In addition, Kotex is hosting activations and donating to menstrual health charities in Turkey, Brazil, Vietnam, and the U.S.
The Celebration Continues
Women’s History Month may be just one month of the year, but the fight for equality, representation, and empowerment never stops. Let’s continue to uplift, educate, and celebrate women all year long, because progress never takes a break!
